Research Interests

My primary interest starting graduate school was animal behavior; my interest has not waned but through the various funding I received I ended up with three genomics-focused chapters. I hope to leverage the genomic information I learn during my dissertation into future turkey behavior projects in the future. I would broadly define my research trajectory as seeking to understand how animals are adapting and suriving in Anthropogenic environments.

Especially since choosing Wild Turkeys as a study system for my dissertation, research into effective conservation and management is also an interest of mine. We can't study an organism if it's not there! I am interested in finding ways to apply my research to inform management plan progress and monitor population status. I also hope this website provides information to anyone interested in Wild Turkeys about the behaviors they observe, and about the genetic information of the Wild Turkeys in their area and across the world.
